PTF fraud: PDP's offensive posture

One thing that has continued to attract the provocative posture of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, is the fact that the only witness that could testify against the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mohammadu Buhari when he held sway at the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), is dead.

Infact, the campaign organisation argued that for former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to say that there was nothing wrong in the financial transactions in the PTF, shows that Obasanjo was only trying to cover up the APC  presidential candidate.

The campaign organisation in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Femi Fani-Kayode, was of the view that it was therefore wrong for  Obasanjo, under whose administration he (Fani-Kayode) served as minister of aviation, to posit that Buhari was a clean man.

Fani-Kayode, who gave the name of the witness to be Ahmad Salihijo; a director with Afri-Project Consortium, who were contracted by the PTF as Management Consultants and Project Consultants, died under very mysterious circumstances shortly after the Dr Haroun Adamu report was submitted to the Federal Government when Obasanjo was in power.

According to him, "Many people are asking whether this was a mere coincidence or whether there was more to it.

“Finally it is curious that former President Obasanjo, an elder statesman that we hold in the highest esteem and under whose watch the Haroun Adamu probe of the PTF was conceived, commissioned and concluded, would come out and attempt to clear Buhari of all the charges made and issues raised in the report and give him a clean bill of health almost fourteen years later."
