I find it difficult to believe the statement credited to former Lagos State governor and national leader of Nigeria's main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that the party’s presidential flag bearer, Muhammadu Buhari was begged to consider contesting the presidency against incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in the forth coming February election.
Tinubu said, "Nigeria is challenged and we present to you a great leader who has the ability to think and do and equals to performance. Buhari is the man that can deliver because he is honest, he has integrity."
Frankly speaking, I am of the firm position that Buhari, being a retired army general cannot be pressurise by anyone to go into what he is ordinarily not interested in.
The fact that he is now contesting suggests that he must have been nursing the ambition a very long while ago.
