Imo State governor, and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum, Chief Rochas Okorocha, has suggested that
governors of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were afraid of being defeated in the forth coming polls.
He said the position of the PDP governors on the use of card readers for the 2015 elections was a clear indication that PDP was already apprehensive of defeat at the polls.
It would be recalled that the PDP governors had stated pessimism at the level of preparation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the forth coming elections with particular reference to the use of card read.
The Imo State governor speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Sam Onwuemedo, described the card reader as a good innovation that every patriotic Nigerian should applaud.
He expressed disappointment that PDP governors were afraid of using card reader at a time when other Nigerians were rejoicing that an end to flawed electoral process was in sight.
Okorocha said, "PDP has been caught by the fear of the unknown. The Nigerian masses have since abandoned them, and they are already aware of their fate at the poll.
“PDP is afraid of its shadows. The party has lost some weight."
The Imo governor issued a warning to the PDP not to toy with the future of Nigeria, adding that, "Even though PDP is the ruling party, it does not have absolute powers to decide what happens in the country. They should realise that the cooperate interest of Nigeria is paramount."
