BENUE GOVERNOR REGRET BURRYING COMMISSIONERS

Governor of Benue State,  Gabriel Suswam today expressed regrets that too many commissioners had been buried under his administration, just as he prayed to God for such temptation not to befall him again.

Speaking at Tse-Chia in Buruku, Buruku Local Government Area of the state, during the burial of the state Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperative, Mr. Aondowase Chia who lost his life last week.

It would be recalled that the late commissioner had last week slumped and later died at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi.

According to the governor, "I’ve buried too many commissioners; I am very uncomfortable and I completely align myself with what His Royal Majesty earlier said that we must all go back to God."

Governor Suswam expressed worry that people were busy hiring political thugs to foment trouble during the general elections rather than soberly reflect on the essence of  human life.

He added that, "Most people believe that they will hire political thugs to kill; unfortunately, they forget the fact that life is full of emptiness. God alone determines the destiny of every man."

Describing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the most peaceful party in Nigeria, he maintained that Nigerians should not look at election as a do-or-die affairs.
