The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), today announced the suspension of elections in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, after the police insisted that it could no longer guarantee security in the area.
Speaking in Agbor, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anidi Ikowak, argued that some stakeholders in the area frustrated electoral officers from moving voting materials to polling units.
The REC further posited that the earlier complaint was that they wanted to see the constituency collation form.
According to him, "But even when the form was brought, they did not still want the materials moved. So the police had to advise that for security reasons, the election should be suspended.
