JONATHAN CONGRATULATES BUHARI OVER PRESIDENTIAL POLL VICTORY

Inspite of the fact that Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega is awaiting presentation of the presidential election result from Borno State, information filtering in shows that incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, has congratulated presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari over his victory in last Saturday's  presidential election.

It was gathered that President Jonathan had called Buhari on the telephone to congratulate him.

In the meantime, the president is currently meeting with the leadership of the National Peace Committee for the 2015 general elections, led by former military head of state, retired General  Abdusalami Abdusalami.

Others at the meeting included the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh; Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Cardinal John Onayeikan; and a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mrs. Priscilla Kuye.
