The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ogun State, has taken delivery of additional 170,000 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCS) from its headquarters in Abuja.
Addressing journalists today at the commission's office in Abeokuta, the State Administrative Secretary, Dickson Atiba, explained that the new consignment brought from Abuja to the state contained between 170,000 and 190,000 PVCs.
While noting that the remaining ones would be brought before Friday, he argued that, "The PVCs just arrived from Abuja. We have them in cartons, we have like 74 cartons that have just come.
"We have 15 cartons for Ifo Local government, 12 cartons for Ijebu-ode Local government, 14 cartons for Ado-Odo/ Ota Local government, 19 cartons for Sagamu Local government, four cartons for Odogbolu Local government, 1 carton for Obafemi Owode Local government, 1 carton for Abeokuta South Local government, 1 carton for Abeokuta North, 1 carton for Ijebu East and then we have some pieces which are in about five small cartons.
"We can not tell the exact number that are in a carton, unless we count them. But in rough estimation, all should be less than 200,000. It is above 150,000 and less than 200,000. It is between 170,000 and 190,000."
