It was not a surprise, when information filtered into the air, that one of the contending political parties in the forth coming 2015 elections in Nigeria; the Labour Party in Osun State, today announced that it has adopted the candidacy of presidential flag bearer of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Goodluck Jonathan and other candidates of the party in the state ahead of the next general elections slated for February 14, 2015.
It is the usual thing that happens in our country when electioneering process is building up. Other political parties which feels that it may not get anything from the election in most cases always align themselves with a major political party so as not to loose out completely.
In adopting Jonathan as its candidate, Senatorial Leader of the LP in Osun State, Bolarinwa Adedokun, declared the party's support for Jonathan at the campaign rally of the PDP senatorial candidate for Osun Central, Oluwole Aina which was held in Osogbo.
Adedokun further maintained that members of the LP took a decision to support PDP candidates because the two parties were "identical twins."
He further posited that Jonathan deserved the support of the majority of Nigerians, saying he had done well despite numerous challenges facing his administration.
