2015 ELECTIONS: MUAZU SAYS PDP HAS CONFIDENCE IN JEGA

National Chairman of Nigeria's ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Adamu Muazu, today insisted that the ruling party alongside its governors have absolute   confidence in the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega.

Addressing a press conference at the national headquarters of the party, Muazu further stated that even President Goodluck Jonathan had expressed confidence in the ability of Jega to conduct a credible election in the country.

According to the PDP National Chairman, "You asked if the party has confidence in Jega? My answer is not far-fetched. The President stated during his media briefing last night (Wednesday) that he has confidence in Jega.

"We also have confidence in Jega that he and his team will conduct free, fair and transparent elections."

It would be recalled that the party's campaign directorate had threatened to pass a vote of no confidence on the INEC chairman.

Specifically, Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP campaign organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, frowned at the manner in which the
distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVC), is being handled.
