In what came as a unanimous decision, the election which took place on August 9th 2014, that brought in incumbent governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola was today upheld by the Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Osogbo.
The tribunal was presided over by Justice
Elizabeth Ikpejime.
Specifically, the election tribunal threw out the petition initiated by governorship flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore and the PDP.
According to the result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), governor Aregbesola defeated Omisore with 392, 284 votes to 292, 742 votes.
